
Book Review By: Alejandro Amado The Diary of a Young Girl by: Anne Frank Publisher: Otto Frank Genre: Autobiography Where I got it: From the library in Mrs. Meadows room. One sentence summary: A 13 year old Jewish girl hides form the Nazis in an office building behind a bookshelf, she re-accounts her everyday life for two years. First Sentence: On Friday, June 12th, I woke up at six o’clock and no wonder; it was my birthday. First Chapter Review: Anne tells us about her birthday, she describes how she got many things such as sweets, puzzles, and a diary, that she now writes in/ Verdict: This book is truly a classic, I think everyone should read it, it shows how hard life was during these times, and it is truly stunning how detailed a grammatically correct each entry’s are. Cover: The cover isn’t anything you have to deeply analyze, it’s basically a black and white picture of Anne with her arms on what seems to be on a table.
