Atticus vs Ewell

Atticus Finich is known for being the finest lawyer in all of Maycomb County, recently though he has taken up a case that has caused great controversy to spread all over Maycomb. Atticus had taken up a case defending a negroe. This negroe was Tom Robinson and he was accused of raping Mayella Ewell, according to Atticus Mayella was deeply in love with the negroe and the negroe hugged her, of course when Bob Ewell saw this, he was outraged and beat Mayella, this obviously did not happen, the crazy negroe raped her. It was later confirmed by the jury his guiltiness, and is now serving a life term in jail.

A few weeks after Tom's arrest and moving to jail the negroe thought it would be a good idea

to try to escape from the security tight jail that we have. This just goes to show how negroes are not smart at all, he even had an injured hand! It was about midnight Tom and some other cell mates decide to climb over the fence. They ran quickly and was not long before he was quickly seen by the nearby watchtowers Tom had no other choice but to continue with his escape he started climbing the fence but it was not long before he took 17 shots to the back and dropped dead on the ground. This shows stupidity.

We will miss you Marie

Maycomb medics have confirmed the death of the oldest women in all of Maycomb, Marie Dubose, or better known as Mrs. Dubose. She was a fine lady that despite her addictions was a very nice and welcoming lady. Her addiction and her old age was confirmed to be the cause of death. Mrs. Dubose's horrible addiction was truely saddening, but she tried with all her might to overcome it, but the pain was too great and she was eventually forced to take the drug again. Funeral arrangements are said to be in Maycomb Grave.

Letter to Editor

I am truly saddened by the news of Mrs. Dubose's death, she was a very nice lady, I remember when I was young she used to bake me cookies, yes some people have misunderstood her, but they don't know her one bit. I know Marie's soul will find peace in heaven. As for Tom, well Tom was just another colored man that has done wrong, I think god has made a terrible mistake for one creating this negroes and two making them so darn dumb. I am glad to see Tom be put to justice, but he is just one, we still must hunt down the rest of them colored men.

Editorial

What do I think of Tom Robinson being shot? I think that it the guards were simply doing their job, they're obviously not going to let a convicted felon to run away from jail. They had given him numerous warnings, but he failed to listen, so they shot him. What I do think was injustice was Tom being said to be guilty Atticus fought that case well and deserves to be recognized as the winner, not a "nigger lover." My writing may not reflect these things, I write with what information I get and what makes the public happy.

Golding VS Hollywood

The book Lord of the Flies by: William Golding differs from Harry Hooks Lord of the Flies for many reasons, these are just a few a picked out. To begin with the boy’s nationality was different, in Golding’s book their nationality was British, but in the movie it was American. Secondly the conch did not shatter, and lastly a littleun did not kill a pilot.

The difference of nationality changes the story because the British are generally more civil than the Americans, so they would have less of a chance to become savage. As in the book you had American kids coming from military camp, so they were already savages. This is seen early on just by the language used, Americans tend to cuss in every sentence, while in the book there was little if any cussing used.

Also, in the movie the conch did not break, in the book the conch had great meaning, it meant civility, order, and government when the conch broke everything was destroyed with it. The movie however didn’t show this a bit, they hardly emphasized the conch at all. If you would have seen the movie and not read the book you would have thought the conch was used to call meetings and to have the right to talk.

Lastly in the movie a littlun killed the pilot hiding in the cave, this would have never happened because the littleuns didn’t carry spears, they generally stayed away from the bigguns, and even if the pilot did scare them they probably wouldn’t have stabbed him in the throat, he would have screamed and ran away, which makes the movie more unlike the book.

All and all, the movie was a bit absurd and very inaccurate. It left out crucial symbols and moments, while adding things that weren’t even in the book. They changed the boy’s nationality, they had an adult with them, and many more things. Then again Golding’s book is very descriptive and it would take about an 8 hour movie to capture all the details accurately.
