Digging up Worms On a Summer Day

Digging Worms on a Summer Day
By:
Alejandro Amado

When I was young
I had
Simple things,
They where my world
GI Joes, transformers.
When I was young,

Now am older
The responsible one
I no longer have
GI Joes, transformers

But,
Computers and phones,
Somehow
I feel stressed.

I miss digging
Up worms
In my back yard
And walking to my room dirty.
I wish I didn’t have to
Grow up.
I wish
I wish
I wish.

Growing up
Is like
Carrying
A mountain
On your back.

Growing is
A
Tide
You never
Know where
It will take you.

I wish
I didn’t have to grow up
I wish
I wish
I wish.
